Every time I publish a new post I seem to start off by saying…”gosh, it’s been a long time since I last posted anything..”, and this time is no exception, although I do have a small excuse this time, because I have been beavering away at redesigning my site.
So now the background work is finished it’s time for a new post.
On the corner of Dee Street and Hollywood Terrace in Invercargill is the very, in my opinion anyway, photogenic All Saints Church.
Often referred to as “the church by the bridge” All Saints overlooks the Waihopai River. This lovely church seems to change it’s appearance and character depending on the weather and the time of day.
These photos were taken back in May 2014, late on a day when the sky was blue overhead, but quite dark in the south, giving a deep, almost threatening, indigo background.
I am particularly fond of the image of candles in the windows as the view through the dimpled glass makes it look almost like an oil painting.
